Terms of Service

*Note: These are the rules straight from the IRC Network, However they do apply in most scenarios mentioned below. These CAN, and WILL, be amended over time either WITH or WITHOUT notice. The staff is not held responsible for any rules that may have been appended or tweaked without a user’s notice.

1. No Disrespect for another user, or Network Operator will be tolerated at Special Project Unit.
2. No discussion of illegal activities such as, but not limited to, hacking or pirating software.
3. No flooding our network channels.
4. Do not PM/CTCP/DCC/Query a user without asking in the channel first.
6. Please don’t ask for any form of staff position. We will post information for applying to volunteer.
7. Bots are allowed, but please ask the channel’s owner first. No harmful bots are allowed.
8. Special Project Unit is open to all chatters, however, Staff members have the right to remove users at any time.
9. No linking to torrents or direct downloads for copyrighted material.
10. No porn links, Period. This includes PM, Channel, Notices, and any other methods of contact.
11. Owners of other IRC networks may not use our network for personal gain (advertisement of any type)
12. You may NOT post links to other servers.
13. Your connection can, and will be scanned for insecure proxys and other security risks
14. Any attempts for hostile takeover will result in your ISP being banned, as well as contacted, and Special Project Unit will exercise the right to involve any law enforcement agency as we see fit.

Ban Disclaimer

If you feel you have been wrongly banned from Special Project Unit, please email Abuse@SPUNet.org and a company Executive Officer will look into the issue.

Connection Notice/Disclaimer

Displayed upon connection to the IRC Network

Upon connection, you:
1) Authorise us to scan your host/ip for open proxies, viruses and any other sort of malicious files within your client that may be a threat to the network (scan disclaimer is located below). If you do not consent to this scan, Please disconnect now.
2) Agree to abide by the network rules. Please review these rules at http://www.SPUNet.org/tos or the /RULES command.

Your connection will be scanned for open proxies every time you connect to this network. This is for security purposes only. Your IP address will not be logged by other servers or staff.

Any messages sent to SPUNet.org Servers are property of the user, therefore others cannot steal it. If you feel what was said in a channel was wrong, that is up to the discretion of the Channel Admin, as the IRC Operators are not held accountable whatsoever by what is said and where. However if you feel the Channel Admin is ignoring anything against network terms of service, that is a network offense and you may then join #HelpCentre and contact an IRC Operator.
